I have 10 horses. Rosie (Walker) in photo top and Sunny (Morgan) hubby Gene’s horse
in Dough Creek (Hell’s Canyon) last spring. We trail ride.

I’ve been training colts since 1976 or before. I don’t show. I have ridden in some reining clinics, and others.
Done a year of dressage in college, and been jumping mostly from 1960’s - 1970’s. Jumping is in my blood- my family jumped fences in the dark during the Civil War (The road was usually plugged with foot soldiers ). Gathered cattle in Colorado with the cowboys; packed into the wilderness, married a back-country Game Warden.

I got my name Mountain Mollie when I was in college–I would go to the lost places during the summer with a dog and two unbroke horses and one broke horse; seeking for peace away from man. I made mountain horses and found another mountain on the other side of the last mountain.

Lost places are getting harder and harder to find.

These days we are struggling to save the old Lolo Trail. General Sherman called it the worst trail in America, for any man or beast. Lewis and Clark struggled across it in 1805- 1806 and it was used in the 1877 War-where the Nez Perce left their homeland in search of freedom; followed by General Howard in his pursuit to Canada.

I love tough-challenge lost trails. I guess that’s my discipline.
