I realize that I shamelessly promote Les Vogt on my blog. Let me say that I’ve never met him (I can’t say that anymore! I met him this weekend! April 2008); I just think he’s cool like Elvis. Les Vogt’s Cowhorse U has had the greatest impact on my learning experience. I write about him here (and will be adding other horse trainer profiles) because I think that anyone who is brave enough to try to make a living in the horse business should be supported by the rest of us diehard horse lovers who aren’t or who can’t.

Trainers devote their lives to refining and innovating horse training and to keeping alive the lessons of the great trainers of the past. They’re our gurus and our pathfinders. What would we do without them?

My intent is that the Trainer Reviews portion of Reinersblog.com be an honest review of our experiences with different trainers and their clinics and products. This is not a place to say mean things or insult any of them. If there is an area that you believe could be improved about a trainer and his/her methods, please do say so in a constructive way if you leave a comment. Trainers work hard and do their best to enrich our lives with our horses and that’s really what it’s all about.
